Roadmap

Rough list of planned changes and open questions, roughly in priority order.

Planned

  • [ ] Rehearse a full vault (TrueNAS) restore from B2 — currently untested
  • [ ] Move styx's single-node k3s experiment to a real 3-node cluster, migrate Home Assistant + Grafana off LXC once it's stable
  • [ ] Add a second UPS for the switch/router stack independent of the compute nodes' UPS
  • [ ] Replace the Raspberry Pi Pi-hole secondary with something less SD-card-failure-prone

Under consideration

  • Swap Nextcloud for something lighter — mostly used for calendar/contacts sync at this point
  • 10GbE upgrade for the Proxmox↔TrueNAS link (currently 2.5GbE, seems fine for now but Jellyfin transcoding + backups at the same time gets close)
  • Second physical site for true offsite backup instead of relying solely on Backblaze B2

Open questions

  • Is Cloudflare Access sufficient auth for photos.j7c.xyz, or should Immich get its own SSO?
  • Worth clustering Pi-hole via keepalived/VRRP instead of Gravity Sync?
